The second bottle of the collection, Maya, is a 23-year-old Springbank that takes us to discover what goes on inside a distillery and meet the people who have kept the tradition alive over the years and continue to do so today.
Maya takes you on a journey Beyond the veil, peeking into the hidden world of whisky, crafted by passionate and tireless workers behind the scenes.
Aged in first-fill bourbon casks for 23 years, this 1999 Springbank whisky is a symphony of flavours.
Ripe peaches, cherries, and chocolate lead the way as soon as you taste a dram. Then, a zest of lemons wakes your senses, and the tropical allure of juicy mangoes soothes your taste buds. It ends with a touch of coastal notes and a subtle hint of peat smoke, offering a balanced finale.
ABOUT THE DISTILLERY…
Springbank distillery has been owned and operated by the Mitchell family in Campbeltown since 1837, and it one of Scotland's most revered distilleries. Following a brief mothballing between 1979 and 1987, upon the reopening the decision was taken to cease all sales to the blending industry and focus on its single malt sales. Today it is one of the only distilleries to malt, distil, bottle and mature whisky on the same site, and they are the only distillery in Scotland who malts all their barley using their own floor maltings.
