This 2012 vintage from Bruichladdich is an unmistakeable Islay whisky through and through, matured in its entirety on the island for four years in American oak casks before spending one more year in casks of Bordeaux oak. What emerges is a distinctly peaty, slightly ashy but always pleasant 58.2% dram.
