An August 2013 release, this Glenglassaugh 30 year old is the first new release under the ownership of BenRiach, who took over the distillery in March of that year. This is rich with an undoubted sherry-cask background.
There’s a common assumption that the older the malt, the higher the strength. Not so. This divine Glenglassaugh comes in at 42%, and that’s despite three decades in the cask. Finished in a gorgeous teardrop decanter, it’s a triumph of Highland distillation at its best.
