A special selected from Whisky-E Ltd Japan. 2010 matured entirely in Chinquapin Barrel Cask No. 4950, Chinquapin (scientific name: Quercus Muhlenbergia) is a type of oak native to North America, bottled at natural cask strength in 2024 exclusively for the Japanese market.
The colour is rich mahogany, the aroma of comb honey with a hint of wax is added to the nutty taste of marzipan and hazelnut, and anise, a slight hint of truffle, and molasses slowly appear.
Oily, the taste of caramel, orange peel, and heather honey fill.
It is a single cask that shows a rich expression with plenty of characters such as caramel, nuts, and spices derived from the Chinquapin barrels.
