This 12 year old Chivas Regal is a blend of malt and grain whiskies, some of which have been married in Mizunara casks. The Japanese oak can take 200 years to reach maturity and its knottiness and porosity make it difficult to work with but the results are more than worth it. This is a fruity dram with notes of sandalwood, nutmeg and fresh citrus, giving way to honey and hazelnut.
