THE TSUKURIWAKE SELECTION 2022
The 2022 Cask Series from Yamazaki is inspired by Tsukuriwake, a philosophy of artisanship through diversity. This series unveils the individual elements that make Yamazaki whisky, Yamazaki, from the casks that it matures in to the malt that it is made from.
YAMAZAKI MIZUNARA JAPANESE OAK CASK (Volume 700ml / Abv.48%)
Yamazaki Mizunara single malt was matured in Japanese mizunara oak casks and bottled as part of the 2022 Yamazaki Cask Series. Its time in mizunara oak has imparted a spicy, aromatic character with notes of custard cream biscuits, caramel, incense and oak throughout the palate.
YAMAZAKI PEATED MALT (Volume 700ml / Abv.48%)
Yamazaki Peated Malt whisky has been made with a carefully-selected blend of peated malts, creating a refined and smoky character. The palate offers notes of earthy smoke, pineapple, yuzu, charred oak and green herbs that linger in the finish.
YAMAZAKI PUNCHEON (Volume 700ml / Abv.48%)
Yamazaki Puncheon is a complex, spicy Japanese single malt that has been matured in specially-crafted American oak puncheons and bottled as part of the 2022 Yamazaki Cask Series. The palate offers notes of butterscotch, vanilla, oak, ripe fruit and caramel that lingers in the finish.
YAMAZAKI SPANISH OAK (Volume 700ml / Abv.48%)
Yamazaki Spanish oak is a rich and complex Japanese single malt that has been matured in specially-selected Spanish oak casks and bottled for the 2022 Yamazaki Cask Series. The palate offers notes of dried fruit, sundried tomatoes, buttery pastries and subtle acidity that lingers in the finish.
