This whisky was distilled in 1983 and aged in single ex-Bourbon cask #8606 for 30 years.
1 x Karuizawa 31 Year Old #3555 Geisha Label
(Volume 700ml / Abv.60.6%)
An intense and impressive 31-year-old whisky.
This whisky was distilled in 1981 and matured in a sherry cask #8606 for 31 years.
A highly sought-after, rare Japanese single malt whisky: A set of two bottles released alongside each other for The Whisky Show 2013. Exclusively bottled for Speciality Drinks, only available from The Whisky Exchange.
The first bottles to showcase the character of Karuizawa distillery alongside the beauty of the geishas. They are the only bottles in the series to feature more than just a face on the labels, one shows the geisha elegantly poised with a parasol and the other hiding behind a decorative fan.
Karuizawa was founded in 1955 and was Japan’s smallest whisky distillery. In 1959, they became the first distillery to export whisky overseas. Karuizawa used the famous Golden Promise barley, which was peated, then the spirit was distilled in small batches and aged in the finest Spanish sherry casks to make some of the best whisky in the world.
Sadly, Karuizawa distillery stopped production in 2000 and closed for good in 2011.
