An exceptionally mature Tequila with a perfumed nose of dark chocolate, dried figs ripe stone fruits. This outstanding release is aged for five years in Mexico’s tropical climate, initially in American oak barrels before finishing in a combination of oloroso, amontillado and sweet Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The use of Spanish sherry casks – a technique more commonly associated with single malt whisky – adds vivid notes of dried fruits, nuts and a sense of umami as well as intriguing hints of leather and cigar boxes. The handmade decanter is made by traditional artisans in Santa María Canchesdá and decorated with platinum, silver and 24 karat gold. An impressive bottling in every sense.
